Torch Cactus Flower Cascade

This is an INCREDIBLE, AMAZING sight in my front yard. The old axiom, "the picture doesn't do it justice" is really true in this case.

This is the torch cactus that I resurrected from the dead last fall and replanted in the hope it would take anew. It did and a flower bloomed earlier this spring.

When I went outside this morning I discovered that not one flower, not two...three...four...TEN...but SEVENTEEN flowers had bloomed today on this twelve inch tall cactus!!!!

The sheer weight of all of these flowers made the cactus bend right over from it's base making it lay flat on the ground.

I am utterly astounded!
