Coromandel Landscape

Yesterday we thought we would do the circuit of Coromandel. Today we decided we would we would much rather do just a few selected spots. First stop was Hot Water Beach, where you can dig in the sand and dip your toes (or your bum) in hot water. It's a Saturday of course (we'd forgotten) and there were lots of people there. We found that just digging our toes in, they got quite hot but the waves washed in and cooled you. We carried on to Cathedral Cove and again it was very busy so we decided for various reasons to miss that one. So a quick look at Cook's Beach and some lunch and a wander round Tairua where we saw a very strange sight. The first thing was the sound of Mark Knopfler's voice singing 'The Walk of Life' and when we looked around there was a Rib on wheels traversing the sand under motor power. There are a couple more from today there too.

We thought as it was Saturday we'd better see about booking somewhere for a meal so we popped into Whangamata and got sidetracked by a Merrel shop where Marian decide to look for some shoes. As is so often the case, she tried every pair in the shop and didn't buy any. I, on the other hand, wandering around waiting, bought a pair of shoes, a hat and a pair of shorts! Ho hum.

Have a good weekend

David
