Breezy by the sea.

We have been to a very chilly and breezy Clevedon in Somerset today. Only about 18-20 miles away which was easy for us in the car but son in law John cycled!

He is taking part in a 100 mile cycle event in March so wanted some training.

We walked along this lovely mid 19th century pier which was restored in the late 70's/80's. There were men fishing near the end and one had just caught a cod as we passed. He told us he was going to weigh it and then put it back as it was too small but it looked quite large to me.

The Pagoda Tea rooms at the end are a delight. Wrought iron and stained glass kept the breeze out as we drank our coffee and we had great views over Severn Estuary to Wales.

To the left you can just make out the white buildings of Cardiff and to the right are the snow topped Brecon Beacons.

A browse around town followed by lunch and then John was back on his bike for the return journey. We got home in time to put the kettle on for tea and cake for when he arrived.

A bit of a rest now before we head into town tonight for a meal at Jamie's.

Will certainly be visiting here again hopefully when it's a bit warmer!
