Snow Dog

We had snow in Essex today, flakes the size of fifty pence coins somebody said. I went to Lodge Farm intent on shooting a snowy landscape but by the time I got into position the snow had turned into sloshy sleet.

I did see a hare running across the fields but hadn't got my long lens on at the time. Once on I shot a flock of birds, which at a distance looked like fieldfares. They were quite a way off. When I looked at the indistinct images on screen they are more like some sort of plover.

This lovely bruiser of a dog was returning from his walk. I've posted him because, as well as liking him, I like the snowflakes. Not quite sure of his breed. Is he a Staffordshire Bull Terrier?
