Jay Vee

I planned to visit Wallasea Island Wild Coast Project as today is #WorldWetlandsDay but when I mentioned it in a message to a mate, who I haven't seen recently, he advised against it as no hides have been constructed yet and one can't get very close to the birds.

He had a visit to Fishers Green planned and asked me if I would like to join him. He took me to a secret place in the woods where we were able to photograph muntjac deer - three at once so close that we could hear them masticating - a bullfinch and his three female companions and a pair of jays. I got lots of jay images but narrowed them down to ones with catchlights and showing the beautiful blue wing feathers. A woodpecker visited but we didn't manage to capture that.
