(Back Blip)

Sadly, we had to leave The Cotswolds today as our wonderful touring holiday is coming to an end.  Took the train (or two) back to Egham for one last night at the Runnymede Hotel.

The walkway along the Thames wasn’t as muddy as it was two weeks ago, so we went for a stroll along it after lunch.  We saw various birds – cormorants (they’re always hanging around at the lock), swans, Canada geese, mallard, a pied wagtail – but the most unusual bird to us in this spot was these ring-necked parakeets (apparently the UK’s only naturalized parrot, now found in SE England).  There was a large, noisy flock of them swarming around.  We had also seen some in Green Park in the centre of London at the beginning of our trip.

In the evening, we met up with some of Leejohnaire’s old school friends for one last get together before we leave.

(I'm so far behind on my, and everyone else's, blips, sorry!)
