A dreich Stromness

Got the early boat back from Hoy into a very dreich Stromness.   Brinkie’s Brae dominates the Old Academy and the heart of the town.  The recently completed building won a prestigious architectural award.

When we got home we found a joiner busy at work in the house.  He’d even given Baz a snack.  CMC is just about to depart to badminton in Kirkwall and I’m soon away up to the village Community Cafe in the Kirk.  We have been invited for lunch to a friend’s back in Stromness.  And tonight, well, I’m not allowed to mention what I’ll be doing.
