Dumbarton Buffalo

Today I did a lot of walking around DC.  It started off chilly and grey but the sun came out and it turned into a perfect spring-like day (except I was dressed for the cold, so I got way too hot).

I walked around the Dupont Circle area, along Embassy Row and eventually crossed Dumbarton Bridge which is guarded by 4 of these Buffalo or American Bison sculptures - 2 at each end.  After my Leon the Bull entry yesterday, I thought it was appropriate to continue on a similar theme and so I chose this as my blip for today.

Having been made in 1913 these 4 Buffalo sculptures were recently saved and restored.  The bridge is sometimes called the 'Buffalo Bridge'
