Question Time

I attended the British Chamber of Commerce Annual Conference today at the QEII exhibition hall in Westminister.

With this event being so close to the election the good and great were rolled out by the political parties banging on about what they will and won't do, can and can't do. Whether to believe some or any of it will be open to personal views.

So this post isn't by any means politically biased. The list of political attendees reads as follows, Cameron, Balls, Umunna, Cable, Osborne (video message), Swinney, Allen, Hague, Robinson and Clegg. Absent was Miliband.

Without doubt Cameron is a proficient speaker, Balls at times stutters and stumbles, the rest pretty much as you would expect with one exception. Chuka Umunna is without doubt a person to keep an eye on. In is present role as Shadow Seretary of state for Business, Innovation and Skills he spoke with clarity, conviction and genuinely seemed to understand and believe what he was saying. So is Umunna a future leader, sitting where I was it felt that way... But then what do I know
