Sunset.

M's last weekend at home this trip, so this morning he popped down to the boat for one last training exercise with the RNLI before he leaves. While he was down there, I caught up on all my backblips, did a bit of a tidy and made myself a bit more presentable. When he returned, we went for a lovely outdoor lunch at the Ferryhill, and then took a drive over to Hazlehead golf course for 9 holes. We were perhaps a little ambitious on that front, as neither of us had drivers and M's longest iron was a 6... Not really suitable for a 400+ yard hole! I was actually impressed with how we both played. There were some terrible shots as we got tired, but both M and I managed to finish only one-over-par on one hole each. Unfortunately we had mis-timed our day, and realised on the 6th that we were due at A's for dinner in a couple of hours, with nothing prepared!

We popped home and gathered some food and clothes, then drove out to Banchory to see A and baby Fin. When we arrived, we sat and caught up for a wee bit before M and I headed to the kitchen and cooked a selection of tapas dishes while A bathed the baby. We made creamy garlicky mushrooms, cheesy patatas bravas, chorizo in red wine sauce, roasted chilli aubergines, roasted butternut squash and tomatoes with brie and cauliflower and broccoli cheese. I was very impressed with our efforts!

It was a beautifully sunny day today, but I hadn't actually managed to take a photo of the sun all day, so I nipped out while the baby was being put to bed and got a quick snap of a lovely sunset behind the trees. A great evening, followed by a glass of red (would have been rude not to use up the last of the cooking wine) and a lazy snooze on the sofa in front of the TV. Lovely Saturday :)
