Fair daffodil ...

I was amazed to read a post by the Provost of St Mary's Cathedral, Glasgow, the other day, announcing that the prepositorial garden had its first daffodils; my garden has sprouted two skinny crocuses and that, it seemed, was my lot. But today, against the old wall that runs round the grounds of Castle Toward (yes, the same Castle Toward that has been in the news recently because of the absurd behaviour of Argyll and Bute Council) I came across this one daffodil in full bloom.

It is surrounded by others that still have a way to go, but I was sufficiently delighted to risk kneeling on the road to take its photo.
