(Wet) Manchester Celebrations and Explorations

An early start (by Sanja's standards, really late by mine - 8.45) and we headed straight to Manchester, found the car park, and headed to the Harvester for a tasty, large breakfast! We were there for the Chinese New Year parade, so headed to the square after breakfast, moaning about the fact it had started raining. It got worse as we stood and waited for half an hour or so, with sleet, snow, and mean umbrellas from others. Grr. The only thing we could see were two Chinese Dragons for a couple of minutes (poor people carrying them!), so it was borderline whether it was worth getting so cold and wet for the rest of the day to be honest!

The afternoon was spent shopping in the city, with a couple of small purchases, then we returned to Lancaster, driving through a horrible rain and hail storm, for a delicious gluten free pizza at Marcos! The evening was spent playing more settlers (I've won 4/5 games this weekend!) and making a small dent in our chocolate collection.

Sadly I'll be heading home tomorrow.
