Patient Portuguese Pooch

Nearly every morning as we walked into Funchal, this little dog was sitting outside his front door waiting for it to open. It's quite a busy road, but the dog clearly had road sense and knew where to sit safely. One morning, we did see his family emerge. He bounced around happily wagging his tail, but no woofing! 

If he turns his head you'll notice that his bottom teeth all stick out above his top lip, which gives him a strange appearance. But he won't look. His gaze is fixed on that door, willing it to open.
