Spring is in the air

A very long sleep, a very slow start, but I've started to feel as if I'm on the mend. I decided to get some fresh air - the first since Saturday - at nearby Risley Moss, as that might also help.

Blue tits and long tailed tits were collecting something from this tree trunk. It seemed to be these silky white whisps, whatever they were (lichen of some sort ?) maybe for nesting material ?

Highlight - a few sightings of willow tits, nationally now rare but Warrington/Wigan seems to be a stronghold. Maybe they prefer rugby league to union ?
