White heather

On my first walk round Balfron for a while, I saw all sorts of lovely plants in full bloom, none more so than this rather splendid bush of white heather. I think it's supposed to be lucky.

Does anyone remember "The White Heather Club" on black-and-white tv in the 60s? The host, Andy Stewart, with his boyish looks, the ladies in their white dresses with a tartan sash, the men in kilts, dancing, Kenneth McKellar and Moira Anderson singing... Ah, they don't make 'em like that anymore!

Did I hear someone say "Thank goodness!"?
