A lucky escape

(Backblip from Saturday).

This is Textile Express in Oswestry. Built in 1540 it's the oldest building in the town and was originally The Coach and Dogs Boarding House.

On Thursday morning a large 4x4 crashed into it making a huge hole in the wall. It fractured a gas main which meant that the buildings in the locality had to be evacuated.

If it had happened 20 minutes later the staff would have been working in the office where the crash was and they could have been killed. The pavement outside is usually full of children walking to the school down the road and it could have gone into them. It could have been carnage.
