My Talavera Tile

Hand-painted in blue,

What a treat to see these beautiful tile up on the kitchen wall! We searched for them a couple of years ago and, just by luck, found them in the back of a garden shop in San Diego, California. They were wrapped very carefully and set into a cardboard box for transport back to Yuma. They have sat on top of the kitchen cupboards waiting for their turn in the que of jobs we wanted done to finish the house off. D and his brother have blitzed the project all weekend. Now A has a 3 hour drive back to California as he is not retired and must be on the job tomorrow morning once again. D is left to do the gritty job of fitting in all the odd pieces around the electrical outlets and filling in the spaces with grout. What a job!
