On the beach

My hotel in Perth was actually in a coastal suburb called Scarborough, a 40-minute bus ride from the city centre. The hotel did have a wonderful setting, though, overlooking the beach and with easy access to it. 

Nevertheless, reading the warning signs along the sea-front made one wonder whether a paddle or a swim was a sensible idea - if the large waves and sand-bars didn't get you, maybe the snakes would!
