'Open Day & Lloyd Spiegel'

Backblip.

Quite a big day today. Starting off with taking Dylan to Judo at 9am up at the school. He has decided that he'd prefer to take up Judo over archery, so now we need to arrange his Judo suit from Neil who is one of the parents at the school. Also it was the schools open day which we were both involved with, MsMun taking a school tour and me as a roving photographer. A nice warm day and we had quite a few prospective families visit and talk to the staff and parents. It's always great to spend time up at the school, we are very lucky to have such a great community of people to share the experience with. This is Amy, an ex student of the school doing face painting for the younger kids, she did a wonderful job too.

After some lunch and a quick stop off at home to pack some clothes for the kids, we headed off to Aunty Leng's house. She looked after the kids while MsMun and I had a night out.

First stop was at Mexicali Rose for dinner in Richmond. The food was delicious.

Then we drove over to the Docklands to watch Lloyd Spiegel in action at the Wonderland Spiegeltent. Wow, what a performance, this guy has to be the best acoustic blues performer in Australia. Tonight was night 2 of the gig which was recorded for a double live album release later in the year. I also had the opportunity to meet on of my peers, the great Giovanni Angelucci a local Melbourne photographer who was the official photographer for the shows. Looking forward to seeing his shots from the night. It was great to see Lloyd play in such a great venue and the performance was impeccable as was the sound.

I was in blues heaven tonight.
