Award

Photographic clubs rely heavily on the dedicated work of a few willing individuals for their survival.  These keen volunteers arrange the meetings, organise speakers and judges, run competitions and exhibitions, and take on the administrative tasks required to keep any club running.  Some individuals show exceptional dedication to the world of club and amateur photography, taking on roles within their own clubs and in the wider photographic community, and do this for many years.

Tonight, at our own club's AGM, Graham Coldrick - one such dedicated individual, who has been a member of this club for almost 40 years - was recognised for his outstanding contribution.  He was presented with the Award for Meritorious Service from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and can now add the letters APAGB after his name (alongside the DPAGB and ARPS awards recognising the high standard of his photography).

The presentation was made by Chris Langford of the PAGB.  Chris met her husband Don when they were both members of our club many years ago.  Don is past president of the PAGB and a past president of our club, but they have both lived in North Wales for many years.  However, they made the trip back to see us especially to make the presentation.

Congratulations, Graham.
