Wide Angle Wednesday Preview

For tomorrow: Foreground Interest

On Sunday it seemed that conducting Wide Angle Wednesday this week might well be a fruitless exercise given that the site could collapse at any moment, wasting a lot of people's time and effort. Now we do appear to know a little more. It is possible that new information may have come through since but earlier today the following seemed true:

a) Blipfoto IS in liquidation. Documentary evidence is at hand.
b) The liquidating body has evidently been approached. It is reported that they are "optimistic" about a purchaser being found although this opinion may mean precious little at the end of the day.
c) It seems unlikely that the site will go down in the immediate future although this assurance must be considered vague at best

From what I can see, Blipfoto will probably last out the week (at least) and so with your kind indulgence I shall (in spite of my previous stated reservations) post the regular Wide Angle Wednesday challenge (widwed03) tomorrow. Like most of you I desperately want this site to continue. If carrying on as usual will help .... I must play my part.

Wide angled lenses and zoom settings are very good at landscape images featuring an element of foreground interest - primarily because most of them offer relatively close focus capability combined with excellent long depth of field.

HERE are some good examples.

In the picture above we see Paladian, standing on the "Pulpit Rock" lookout, shooting an image of the Grose Valley. She and rower2012 are visiting the Blue Mountains at present. We had a lovely Blackheath Blipmeet at Trisharooni 's house this morning. WWombat, BeckettTrisharooni, isbi, and I then spent the day showing them some of the local sights.
