Meinbrexen Railroadbridge seen with Different Eyes

Today clearly brought us back on the road towards springtime. As the hard work had been done in the morning, we sat together on the sunny balcony to enjoy lunch. I like to toast my slices of heavy spelt bread. Willemien preferes a lighter program: fresh cornbread. For the vegan there is a delightful assortment of natural products to find even in our supermarket. So we are very satisfied with our post-veggy art of catering.

“Shall we go to Meinbrexen,” I proposed before we could lean back for a lazy afterlunch nap. And so we drove to our favorite water reserve to see the cormorants, herons, gees, coots and ducks. Sometimes swans and a white heron can be found to stay over there. Meinbrexen Waters alongsside the Weser river is the first wide open waterspace when you cross the Weser river leaving Westphalia. From the trainwindow -as you travel East - it is more than an eyecatcher. You are crossing over into a different region: Lower Saksony.

For us the view of Meinbrexen means: “Almost Home Now… For other travellers differents meanings of freedom might be associated. We know from Monika Plessners autobiography that her beloved professor in philosophy Helmuth Plessner asked her to marry him once their train had crossed the river. Cross the river and here is the right moment to dare to jump into an unknown adventure of destiny. So making the long walkaround the waters on a sunny afternoon in March is symbolic. We expose ouselves to the wide and vast beauty of this waterspace. And we encircle anew the full surprises of our life together at the Weserriverside.

Meinbrexen symbolizes our love for the living in that healthy natural environment we found in Carlsheaven. We walk around the waters drawing the circle of our Heart. From here we see the rosty railway bridge with different eyes. Different not only because we are immigrants here, but also because we learn to see with the Inner Eye. That Eye that belongs primarily to the Loving Heart. There we find the deepest source of inspiration for all forms of creativity.
