My topsy-turvy life

By Rathmandu

True Scotsman?

After yesterday's exertions, and feeling absolutely knackered, we decided to have a bit of a touristy day today. Well we are tourists in this city after all.

So a walk up the Royal Mile towards Edinburgh Castle, where we saw this old fella getting ready to collect money, dressed in all his finery, medals and all.

The castle done, including the one o'clock gun, we went to Camera Obscura where they have loads of optical illusions including a vortex tunnel and of course a camera obscura on the roof. Very cool. Then we headed off to Princes Street gardens and the National Gallery before Laura lost misplaced put down my sunglasses whilst buying a jumper because she was cold. Then we went down into the old Closes of Edinburgh for The Real Mary King's Close tour. It's mental to imagine the conditions people had to live in and the narrowness of the streets closes. Then off for food via the statue of Grey Friars Bobby...we're both knackered now!
