"The Mocking Blackbird"

A bird blip--sort of :)  Le Merle moqueur*  is a café on the Butte-aux-Cailles, an area a few minutes away for us .  We took a stroll there this Saturday afternoon, and it seemed that a good portion of Paris's younger set had the same idea.  The area is full of sophisticated graffiti, with images that tempted me, but this one conveys the atmosphere wonderfully.  Here's a real Paris blackbird.

*Le merle moqueur is from the song "Le temps de cerises" (many versions on You-tube).The shop on the left is called "piss [e]n lits", French for dandelion (despite other things  you might imagine). The French is based on the leaf's diuretic qualities (the English name is from French for the shape of the leaf:  lion's teeth).
