High Line taxi

Last full day in NY :(  We packed a lot in though :)

Started off by walking to the High Line, a disused elevated railway which has been converted into a park and public space.  Loved it - very cool indeed.  There was lots of street art to see along the way, and the conversion has been so well done, but my favourite shot of the day (and perhaps of our whole trip) has to be this one.  I peered over the edge at one point and spotted this taxi lined up perfectly underneath the railway line.  Took a couple of photos, then realised it wasn't a parked car as I had thought, as it then drove off.  That sort of fleeting moment captured in photograph makes me so happy!

Walked the entire length of the line, then went to Chelsea Market in the Meatpacking district to get some lunch (delicious Thai curry).  After that, we caught the subway back over to W 33rd St and went to a couple of shops, then attempted to go to the Manhattan Mall, which turned out to be pretty crap.  Char headed back to Fifth Ave in search of some better shops, and I made my way slowly back to the hotel, taking lots of photos (on my phone as it was raining) along the way.

Went out for dinner at Bubba Gump's in Times Square (figured we might as well finish off with the full-on tourist experience), then went on for cocktails at the rotating View lounge in the Marriot Times Square - 48 floors up.  Those cocktails were pretty strong.  We went and did some drunk shopping afterwards, then back to the hotel for some drunk packing, then too late for bed considering our early start tomorrow.  Oops.
