Mazout

The storm passed our village without doing too much damage, as far as I could see. The weather was still very windy and unpredicatable. A lunch with my neighbour and friends was planned for today and we walked over to the Japanese restaurant in a torrential shower. The restaurant is only 5 minutes away and just has had a change of hands and decor. very contemporary service now, with tablets to see the menu and place orders. We did have the most wonderful sushi and sashimi  mix , very fresh and tasty. And when walking back after lunch the sky was blue with dramatic clouds. I had almost forgotten the monthly photo challenge, which is capturing the neighbourhood every 100 m on a route that is known but not captured by us before. Now if there's anything I won't usually capture it is indeed the Brusselsesteenweg, the road from the Brussels ringroad towards the centre of our village and vice versa. It's lined with businesses, Mc D, Pizzahut, DIY centres, mega shoe shops, supermarkets etc. There's not a really a photogenic part around. On a grey day it's horrid, but with a blue sky and some sun it can actually look colourful, especially when there's an ornate oil delivery van like this driving along. Mazout is the Belgian name for domestic fuel.
