Bomble and Helena

I started work this morning preparing an assessment of the work we have to do in future on the neighbourhood plan and that will form the basis of the necessary budget.  We hope to apply for a grant to cover some of the costs but we need the budget estimate first.  All in all I was pleased to have got this underway, so when the weather cleared up  this afternoon it was enough to tempt me out to the cabin.

I expected to sit in there taking pictures of birds using the feeders, but for a long time they were absent except for a few tits.  The sun came out to play for short periods before another bank of clouds temporarily brought back the gloom.  Helena came outside to show me the lovely cake she had just baked in the shape of a heart, and then she declared that the weather was good enough to get the hammock out of the cabin.

Soon she was happily lying in the hammock but unfortunately it seemed to keep the birds away having a human presence on the patio as well.  Then Bomble decided to leave his place sitting beside me in the doorway of the cabin and walked across to jump onto the hammock to visit Helena.  By this time she had started to doze in the warm sunshine.

I couldn't resist a picture of the two of them and called to Bomble who turned to look at me.  His face looks covered on dust and bits and pieces, probably as a result of clambering about in the bushes earlier, which is one of his favourite pastimes.  We think he really does prefer it when we are outside too to keep him company, as he is a very sociable cat.
