Forsythia season

What a beautiful today it has been today. The weather has been glorious in our corner of south-east England, warm and sunny with a bright blue sky. This is what we hoped for over the Easter weekend, but it shifted sideways a bit.

I did an airport run to Heathrow today, to collect my good friend who has flown in from Toronto on a short visit to stay with her nonagenarian mother. The pickup was delayed by an accident ahead on the M25 which ground everything to a halt for a while, but we made it back to Kent in time for a nice late lunch.

I couldn't resist blipping this vibrant display of forsythia and grape hyacinths on the kitchen windowsill. It seems as though Spring has suddenly sprung with a vengeance, with colour and beauty all around.

On a late evening trip to Stansted, ready for an early flight tomorrow, I enjoyed the sight of an unusually large red-tinted moon glowing in the night sky.
