Queuing in Paris

Another day, another try, another queue. We had until 1 pm today (the train back departing past 2 pm) to try the Eiffel Tower once more. No strike today, we were up early and well in time too , so it all looked fine. The Eiffel Tower has 4 pillars and ticket boots, one for the stairs and 3 with lifts.. We were queuing for a lift (no way could I do the stairs, I've been walking with a walking stick because of the knee). While waiting for the ticket boots to open up the queues got longer and longer. Just before 9:30 am the queue that we were in was told that the opening of that side was going to be delayed for the moment and we were to queue at the other sides ! That was when it became clear that there already was one pillar with lift closed , so there were only two queues left, with obviously the longest queue for the lift ! At 10:30 we weren't any way near the ticket booth, so I decided to leave Mau there alone and went back to the hotel to pack up and check-out. Mau did get to the top, made his video and got back in time, so at least that got accomplished. But I'm not impressed with the Eiffel Tower management, to say the least.

Thanks very much for your kind comments, stars and faves for yesterday's Eiffel Tower image :-) I've got a small album with more images of our one day in Paris here
