Ramparts of Aigues-Mortes

After packing up the apartment we went for a walk around the port then on to Aigues Mortes. A little wander through the streets then we decided to climb the tower and walk the ramparts. Actually the first tower was with the aid of ye not so olde medieval lift but we did use the steps on the way down. Then it was a full circuit of the village ramparts through, up and round the 15 fortifications. We actually climbed three towers.

We had our picnic lunch on the banks of the river then set off on the next leg of our journey to my sister's house in Pouzols Minervois, our home for the next few nights.
