The Poplars

After a little rain first thing the weather cleared up nicely - it looked nice out but the wind had turned cold again.

I filled the bird feeders (again) this morning - the birds have taken to some cheap fat balls that they wouldn't touch earlier in the year. Don't know why - although it may just be the starlings eating them now!

I made some parsnip, apple and brie soup - a nice warm lunch for a chilly day.

We took our walk up through the old A1 lay-by to Clifford Moor where I captured this row of poplars. The rape is just beginning to turn yellow - slightly emphasised here by lowering the camera position to level with the tops of plants. The curve of the land is not a lens effect - it is a rise and fall of the field.
