Skip's Blips

Wow, What a day!

There's no denying this has been a full, fun, and fascinating day. Full because I had an appointment with the retinal specialist at 8:10 am, and things haven't slowed down since. Fun because I enjoyed a great walk in the park on a wonderful spring day. The temperature actually reached nearly 80 degrees and the sun shone brilliantly...until about 4:30 pm, but we won't talk about what the weather did after that. Fascinating because I was privileged to have a special photo opp with a delightful and interesting man, and I was honored to have that opportunity. Click this link and you will see a picture of Lud Lekson, a World War II veteran and a surviving member of the "greatest generation" of Americans. There is a lot more to his story that I can't write tonight because we just arrived home from visiting our friend Marti at University Hospital in Cleveland and I must get some sleep. I will save the rest of Lud's story until tomorrow when I will have enough time (and stamina) to do it justice. So please come back tomorrow and click the link to read  "the rest of the story." I've run out of energy for today and I'm headed to bed!

PS: I almost forgot to mention the thrill of seeing this season's  first yellow bellied sapsucker,  a woodpecker I don't get to see very often. He gets blip honors for today.
