'Far North Queensland Sized Cricket'

Backblip.

This morning we visited the Butterfly & Insect Museum in the Daintree. It's a privately owned collection from a collector that has travelled the world in search of all types of bugs and butterflies. We were both really impressed with the displays and the low key setup of the place.

We arrived about 10 minutes before opening time and went for a wander around the property while waiting for opening time. When the lady turned up to open she showed us these incredible peppermint stick insects that are only found in this particular part of the rainforest and nowhere else and they really are peppermint coloured.

This giant grasshopper was out the front sitting on one of the plants just outside the entry. It was about 50 or 60mm long.
