I love the effects you get with the 35 mm lens that I don't use enough. I'm still lagging behind, even though I skipped a day yesterday! This is Tuesday's blip. Excitement of the day: new dishwasher, so a bright white blip seems appropriate.  The old one had lasted 12 years, so we can't grumble really. S even nobly had a go at repairing it, but no joy.

We had a strange experience with Darty. It's a no-brainer to buy electrical goods from them, because unlike most large French companies they actually have customer service. You order your item, pick a convenient delivery time, and bang on time a cheery guy shows up, unpacks and fits the appliance, checks it's working, and takes the old one away. We usually buy online, but this time we decided to go to the shop so we could ask questions -- as it's integrated we wanted to make sure it would fit. Using the website we'd narrowed it down to a couple of options. So we were a bit taken aback when the lady in the shop said we couldn't order those as they were discontinued. In fact, on further checking of stock on the computer, this huge nationwide chain stocking dozens of brands had no dishwashers at all that met our criteria. "Come back in a couple of weeks," she said. "There might be something then."

So we went home and did what we should have done in the first place: ordered our "discontinued" chosen model on Darty's website, picked a delivery date a few days off, and sure enough two guys turned up today and fitted it in 10 minutes flat. I hope the lady in the shop doesn't rely on commission.
