Just asking to be blipped as we came out of the cinema this evening. It is badged FASA -- a Spanish company that made Renaults under licence in Spain, so it's the equivalent of a Renault 8, probably dating to the late 60s, and clearly well cared for.

We went to see Ocho Apellidos Vascos (Eight Basque Names). This was the most challenging film so far comprehension-wise, and not because they were speaking Basque. It was partly because it was a Spanish film, hence not dubbed, and partly because a number of the characters were from Seville, so they spoke with classically incomprehensible Andalusian accents. We did manage to follow the story, but missed many of the finer nuances, and a number of the jokes.

It is an amusing film though, and it was mostly set in the Basque Country, so we took pleasure in recognising locations we know. I doubt if it will be exported beyond Spain; it revolves around a romance between a Sevillano and a Basque, and the humour and storyline are derived from their culture clashes and the attempts of the pure-blooded Andalusian to pass as a Basque -- a bit like Dany Boon's Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis.
