Tacky

So, you go to a nature reserve for your holiday, and what else would you want to take home as a souvenir but some plastic tat probably made in China? Today I went up to the spot on the river where the tourist boats leave from. The tourist tat shops are now fully open, but Im glad to say they weren't doing much business.

After a working day dealing with client requests where the French motto "Pourquoi faire simple quand on peut faire compliqué ?" ("Why make it simple when you can make it complicated?") sprang to mind, I was in need of some relaxation. After work we wandered up to the "commercial centre"of Riumar (a strip of four restaurants, a mini supermarket and a fishing tackle shop) and had a couple of glasses of wine and some patatas bravas as the sun set. I wish you could do this more easily in France -- a drink or two and a plate of something light to share. But we will soon be back at Lo Tira-Tap!
