Spring flowers in the woods

It was another beautiful spring day today, even if a little less warm than yesterday (but 18 C is actually still warmer than the normal average in April). A good day to do  nature observations, needed for my report for the nature course. Unfortunately I suffer from hayfever, so I have to be careful not to be outside amidst the pollen too much, but needs must (and I also had to take the chance now that the knee was behaving). I could do an hour's stroll documenting/capturing spring flowers and flowering trees in my small piece of the woods. Saw plenty of signs of spring, because of the warmer temperatures and the increasing amount of light while the trees aren't having their full foliage yet there are plenty of flowers to find on the ground. There's this lovely misty translucent green around the branches of the trees just starting to get new leaves. And of course many of the trees start with flowers or leaves and flowers right now too. Here's a collage of 4 images taken there, including  clumps of Common Dog Violets and Wood Sorrel.

Thanks very much for your comments and stars on yesterday's Wide Angle Wednesday treescape :-)
