A Day Worth Recording

Touring Party

For nigh on 30 years we've held an annual party for friends.  For the first time, this was at our new home and fitted around our new life (hence having it in early spring rather than a hopefully busy summertime).

It was a fairly small affair (we'd not given much notice) but it was a really nice mix of new friends and old, including several we'd not seen for many years. Friends from Cambridge days, even Manchester days, and some we met only last week.

One aspect of this year's was that E and I spent quite a lot of the day giving guided tours of the house and garden!  Half-mulling on providing some pre-recorded headsets next year!

Some years we have a quiche year (when just everyone brings a quiche), sometime a quiche dearth. Once we had a hobnob year.  As the food is deliberately left to luck, this is all part of the happy randomness of it all.   This year we had a cake & wine surplus - I can't see that being a major problem.

The spot-colour shot of the bouncer is something of a recurrent theme.
