A time for everything

Sea of yellow

Sunday
We decided to have a change from our usual Sunday afternoon walk in the Forest, and instead went walking at Plaine de Sorques near Épisy, a popular bird-watching area by some disused gravel pits and along the River Loing. The serious bird watchers were out in force this afternoon, with their camouflage clothing and enormous lenses, making my equipment seem totally pathetic! As we were walking, we noticed quite a number of gliders soaring overhead, so when we had finished our walk, we found our way to the local little airport, to see if we could see any going up, but I guess it was getting too late, as they seemed to be towing them all back. On the lane out to the airport, however, we passed this field of rape oil seed, which I thought made quite a glorious sight.
