Starting to Show Green

10.8C Met. Office Leuchars (local weather station shows 15.6C) with sunny sunshine all day long. Light breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound spent some of the morning out in the back garden, lying on the grass in the sunshine. I went out myself late morning and cleared a small corner of a border which used to have a large Rosemary plant but more recently just self seeded Alchemilla Mollis and some weeds.

Maeve and I went for our walk after lunch. We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. The fields on either side of the track are starting to show green and the two small hawthorn trees by the track are coming into leaf. We came back along the cycle path and round in a long loop, heading into Carnoustie then up the main road before turning along for home.

Later I mowed the three small lawns in the back garden. Maeve lay on lawn three, moving as small a distance as possible to lawn two when I took the mower there. I also pruned two roses which grow against the back fence, a large fuschia, and then removed some brambles which always reappear in Spring.
