Marathon Done!

My lovely elder daughter was part of the great machine that is the London Marathon.  The sheer numbers involved in this event is mind-blowing.  There were just so many runners -mile after mile of trainers pounding the streets with spectators cheering them on along the way.  It was wonderful to be a part of it and to have a daughter running in it.  I was a very proud Mum.

Ali did not complete it in the time she had hoped as she slipped on one of the many discarded bottles along the way and damaged a knee.  this meant she had to do the last 10 miles in considerable discomfort which slowed her down.  Even so, she did extremely well to run 26 miles in a little over 4 hours!  It is testament to her determination that she completed the course in what is really a brilliant time.

What I can't understand is why I am also tired!  All I have done is stand around all day.

Thanks to everyone who has starred and favourited my spider from last Friday - the most number of hearts I have ever received and the highest I have had an image on the popular pages.

MonoMonday tomorrow with the theme of Fire  (tag mm65) - I am struggling with this one.  Any ideas?
