Welcome rain

Well the rain was welcomed by our garden at least, after quite a long dry spell which has found us having to water the pots and new plants. It probably  wasn't so welcome to those watching - and running- the London Marathon today.  We watched the event from the comfort of our own home  as we personally had nobody special running this year.  It was wonderful though, to see Paula Radcliffe running her farewell race which she did not with the elite runners but alongside the thousands of 'ordinary' folk.  Paula  is the current world record holder for the women's marathon, which she set during the 2003 London Marathon in April, with an astonishing time of 2 hrs 15mins 25 secs.

Meanwhile, back in our garden I blipped the bluebells this afternoon looking very fresh after their drenching.
