10th Persia (Perthshire) Beavers on Parade

A big Jubilee event, billed as the biggest Jubilee event in Scotland, took place in Perth today. The streets were closed off as 1000 Pipers in a variety of bands from all over Scotland marched in a circular route starting at the North Inch then finishing there. Various youth groups were invited to follow them, and the 10th Perthshire were lucky enough to be one of them. I had a great spot on one of the bridges before they made there way back to the festivities on the North Inch afterwards. Later, there was Kilt Run, so funny seeing men and woman running around with kilts on, it was very colourful.

Cameron is waving his Saltire at his Nana who he spotted on the bridge. I was so proud of the wee man as he marched off on the route. There was a smattering of Union Jack flags, but it was predominately the Saltire that was getting waved.

Later, there was a flypast of some old planes* that I don't know the name of. The weather was good and seems like the event went down well.

Attending a Jubilee Party at the neighbours across the road tonight - lots of bunting is blowing in the wind and have seen boxes of booze getting carried up the drive. Hopefully the 4 dauchunds that belong there have been locked up - one of them chewed off and ate a tortoises leg!!

* Just found our they were Spitfires!

Oh and ps - Thanks to Maud for this very inspirational quote that I am trying to learn -
Courage does not always roar,
Sometime courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow"
