Milkwort

The rain hasn't arrived here yet, but it was cold and mostly dull at the nature reserve this afternoon. I found the first flowering Milkwort - early, I think. It's a lovely flower and can vary from amost pure white to deep purple and blue. The really vivid blue Chalk Milkwort can be found nearby, but not on the reserve. I also photographed a lovely red-headed Cardinal Beetle, Pyrochroa serraticornis (see extra photo), but did not think it was good enough for my main photo today.
