The Ark before Noah

This afternoon we went to hear Irving Finkel talk about a Babylonian tablet with a story of the ark that predates the Old Testament story by many, many years.  He is a highly entertaining speaker and a great enthusiast. 

I do wish that some of the speakers had been given a bit of tuition in how to speak to a large audience. He spoke quickly and his words tended to run into one another. Needless to say, Mum could not follow him at all.

He did talk to her afterwards when I bought the book so that she can read about what he said! He had a facsimile of the orginal tablet and showed it to us.

Not much more to report except that Aggie is very painful and swollen. Not a good sign, so I think tomorrow may have to be a day of rest. Perhaps all will be well after a night's sleep.
