A Day Worth Recording

Croome

We had planned to look round an open garden in Colwall today but found the area steeped so deeply in cars it was impossible to park.  Thus, we decide to go and have a look at the nearest NT property instead - Croome.

There were some odd parallels with the work happening at the Dell House.  Scaffolding up; piles of hardcore in places; some major clearance, repair and restoration work going on in the garden/park; new heating systems going in, ...  They've owned it for 20 years, and us the Dell House 8 months, but in scale of the size of the task that's about right.

Some innovative thinking going on there - making the scaffolding a feature - putting a restaurant with impressive views on the top of it!

We only walked around the park on this occasion, and I rather liked the shape of this cedar.
