A Street Scene in the Centre of Vienna

We took a bus tour of Vienna first thing this morning to get an idea of the layout and things we might want to see at closer quarters.
The pedestrian section in the heart of the centre is a blipper's dream, with churches and monuments round every corner and avenues of grand buildings, reinstated where necessary after the damage in WWII, now housing museums and galleries.

We stopped at lunch time for kaffé und kuchen. The cake chosen by His lordship would have merited a blip on its own had I been quick enough before he took a bite.
Me? A modest plum turnover.

More wandering and snapping before we hit the ice cream shop recommended by the receptionist at the hotel. This unhealthy eating is never going to have a happy ending.

It is amazing that in Europe we have not seen or heard any news about the British election. Nor as it happens have we heard any English speaking tourists. It is as if our island has sunk without trace. What we do miss is the inherent politeness and courtesy of the British people as a whole.

Tonight we will listen to Mozart, in the hall where the New Year's Day concert is held.
