The Beauty of Change

I had been photographing orange lilies in the small park at the end of our road, but Music was ready to move on. So we were making our way down the pine straw slippery slope to the water's edge, when I happened to glance back and look up. And what I saw gave me pause: a luxuriant orange flower in a magnolia tree. I shook myself and looked again, and saw that it was actually a magnolia flower. It had lost its pristine white, was in fact in the process of decay, yet this flower had thus far maintained its perfect form, and the morning light had blessed it with an orange-gold glow.
