If you can't beat them...

After a very wild wet night the morning wasn't much good either.   However we were nice and snug in the caravan so passed time chatting and reading etc.

In the afternoon when things were better (at least it was dry between showers) we ventured out round what I always refer to as "the back side" of the lake.   Back because it is away from the side where most people travel.  This is a narrow road (advised for cyclists) and very quiet.

We stopped at a number of places looking for shots.  I preferred this one taken very near the lake shore looking up towards the road.  The foot bridge in the picture carries the permissive path to Armboth.  Permissive because the land is United Utilities owned and presumably they want some control  where people go and what they do on the reservoir shore.
