Muttley's Musings

Entering the City

On Saturday I went in to York to watch the second stage of the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire which was created after the success of hosting the Grand Depart of the Tour de France last summer.

In the morning I watched a 4 lap womens race around the streets of York before the men arrived in the afternoon after setting off several hours earlier from Selby. I watched some of the womens race on the cobbles on Micklegate, and they looked pretty brutal, but they still went flying by.

This is the view of the men's  peloton entering York through Micklegate Bar.

It was great to see so many spectators turn out for both races, despite the slightly chilly and damp weather.
